29 Weeks

I am starting this post with a very brief apology for my lack of blogging (for the millionth) time - I guess once your Mom calls you out and says you should no longer consider yourself a blogger.. then that reaaaally means you have been out of the game far to long. So here I am - with no promise of getting my groove back, but I do promise to stop by the space of mine a little more so my Mom can't give me a hard time.. love you Mom! #sheismyonlyreader

Anywho, life lately has been busy, exhausting, fun and emotional. Pregnancy hormones sure get the best of you.  Somehow I am 29 weeks along and the final trimester is here.  I feel like it was just yesterday I was posting my pregnancy announcement on here and had all of these goals of weekly pregnancy updates. As you can see that did not happen - hence my two posts since September... But if you want my stats for this fabulous week 29, you are in luck.

How far along: 29 weeks - third trimester!
Gender: Girl
Maternity Clothes: Yes! All of my pants are maternity now, leggings are a blessing and I am now at the point where I know I need some new shirts. The few regular ones I am still in are getting a little short.
Belly button in or out: Partial and it looks so funky! First off, the regret of the junior high belly button piercing is in full effect. Stretched out and so funny looking. Also, about 10 years ago I had an appendectomy and the incision in my belly button scar has risen. Not hot!
Sleep: Sleep is still fantastic, getting a good night sleep most nights.  Starting to wake up at least once in the middle of the night for bathroom purposes but I am so lucky that sleep is still easy.
Best moments this week: We got a crib last Sunday which was exciting and continues to make things feel more real.  I had my 28 week OB appointment on last Tuesday and my Mom was able to come with me.  We heard baby girls heartbeat and all seems to be going great! Seeing my Mom's excitement with being a first time grandma to be was also so sweet and will always be something I remember.
Worst moment this week: Nothing really "bad".. I am getting pretty tired so the lack of energy is getting to me a bit.
Miss anything: Lunch meat - I could really use a Subway turkey sandwich..
Movement: Yes, so much! Baby girl is kicking up a storm and I am loving every minute of it.
Cravings: I have not indulged in one but a Wendy's frosty has been sounding delicious.
Queasy or sick: Yes, still dealing with some sickness - which I am so tired of!
Looking forward to: Taking everything in day by day. This pregnancy has gone so fast that I am taking any chance I can get to enjoy the alone time with John and my family. I wish there was more time in the day to get everything done but I do know I need to take time to relax and just let everything be.

Weekend Shenanigans

What a happy weekend it was for us!!

J and I got the keys to our very first home on Friday and are official homeowners!!

Our move began on Saturday morning.. we had 10 of our closest friends over (don't worry we fed them pizza and beer) and they helped us get 100% moved out of our storage unit. What a good feeling that was to get finished.

 //our moving dream team//

Sunday J and my Dad spent the day stripping all of the old baseboard/crown moulding out of the house so we can start fresh and new. We cleaned the walls and prepped them for paint which begins tomorrow! Lot's of projects in the works for us.. can't wait to show you all before and after pictures!

We took today and tomorrow off from work to get some good progress made on some of our projects and also to be there when our appliances get delivered!

Up next, baby appointment Tuesday!
We are already at 16 weeks and can't wait to see how big he/she has grown since last time!

Happy Monday! Happy Moving and Happy Baby!! Yayy!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday!!
Today I am linking up with Darci from The Good Life for Five on Friday!
The concept is simple - think of five things that make you happy/that you love/on your mind..

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

1. Happy Birthday to MEEEE! (Well, tomorrow) I have been spoiled with all of the birthday love that the month of October brings. Family, friends, co-workers - all have been treating me so amazing. I am surrounded my love and great people in my life.

2. Baby love. You all were SO SWEET with all of your amazing congratulation wishes to me as I begin this new journey in life. I am obviously so happy and your kindness is so touching to me!

3. I am loving everything and anything pumpkin. I swear the grocery store becomes that much better every year when pumpkins and cornstalks greet you in to the store. Fall is here in full swing in the Pacific Northwest and I am loving it all (minus the rain)..

4. This was from this past weekend but I got to meet up with my best girlfriend from college and have a sleepover.  We are exact opposites in life, it's pretty funny actually - but together we just click. She is one of the most wonderful people in my life and I am just so happy dorm life brought us together 7 years ago.

5. Just because I really like this picture..

Happy Weekend to you all! Off to a birthday massage I go...

Exciting News

A funny little happened while on my "blog hiatus"..
Two months ago I started getting pretty bored with the space of mine. It was repetitive, the content was lacking and I was confused on where the direction of my blog was going. I was posting decent weekend updates and participating in the occasional link up but it was becoming boring for me.

Whether we like it or not we are divided into blog social groups and I was on the outside looking in. I was two years into my marriage and no longer could relate to the newly engaged/newly married bloggers. I was living at home with my parents to save some money to buy a house - which was a huge blessing but again no content to blog about. My DIY skills were lacking because I did not have the space or life reasons to have a million projects. I was not pregnant and did not have a kid - so there goes the mommy blogger social circle. I was stuck and wondered "what the heck am I doing".. I was vicariously living through my blog friends and their fun events going on in their lives.

So now is where the present day comes into play. There are some big life happenings going on in my life and I am so excited to announce...

I am filled with so much excitement sharing this news to you all!

And while we are on the topic of great, exciting news..

We also bought a HOUSE! After many ups and downs searching for "the one" we finally found one that is so great for us. It will definitely keep us busy with many projects but we feel that it is great for us to raise a family in and the location is just wonderful.

I am feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment with all that is going on in my life but I really have no complaints. The excitement and joy all of our family and friends are feeling with us makes it all worth it.

So here is to the next step in my life, the next step for my blog and fun for all of the adventures to come!

I'm Back!

Miss me ladies?

I am back from my unintentional "summer break" from this blog of mine.

What happened? Where did you go?

Honestly, I played hard this summer...
Vacationed, lounged, drank, stayed up too late...
Weddings, BBQs, boating, hiking, tanning, camping, swimming, water parks...

Simply perfect!

The only complaint I have is where did the time go and how is it already September?!

As the season changes and we welcome in Fall I hope you'll stick around these parts and keep up with life happenings on Somethin' Bout a Truck.

For now, two fun pictures from a wedding and a hike we went to this past weekend..

Music To My Ears

Oh my!
This is one unforgettable long "weekend" for me.

It all started on Wednesday morning when my sister and I hopped on a train to Vancouver, BC and went to the Justin Timberlake & Jay Z concert.

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G
This was my third time seeing Mr. Timberlake in concert and I have to say it was by far his best show.

I went in with no expectations about Jay Z performing and  was oddly surprised with how amazing he was and how much I actually liked his performance.

Talent.
So. Much. Talent.

Thursday night I returned home and woke up early Friday morning and drove to Eastern Washington for the Watershed Country Music Festival.

Cowboys, whiskey and endless amounts of country music...

Simply perfect!

Thompson Square, Luke Bryan, Kip Moore, Toby Keith.. were all some of the artists that made me scream "yeeee-haw" and made my weekend memorable!

No Luke, YOU shake it for me!

 Happy Monday ya'll - xoxo
