How Pinteresting

Pinterest is simply amazing. When I joined the site I was VERY in to it all. I pinned and pinned and it became quite the obsession.  I took a little break from it and just visited some boards to see what is new and I fell back in to it the addiction.  Here are some of my favorites today!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I am loving that my husband started his new job today. His company got bought out and with the buy they asked him to come over and work for them! Yay!!! He looked so adorable getting ready for work this morning - I felt like a proud Mom on the first day of school. He bought new work shoes, had a new uniform and the cutie pie even put gel in his hair. He looked so handsome and I am excited for this new opprtunity for him!
Emily Maynard I adore you. This season of the Bachelorette was by far the best Bachelorette season (even though I LOVED Trista, Jillian and Ali) but Emily played the game smart and I felt she really followed her heart and made the right choice!
I still LOVE Sean though and hope he is the next Bachelor! xoxo
I am SO excited for this weekend! Friday night I will be hopping on a plane to California for a quick weekend trip to see one of my best friends! She turned 30 this past weekend and her boyfriend is throwing her a party and she has NO idea that I am coming! I can't wait to see her!

I am loving that it is FINALLY sunny in Seattle! I was getting so tired of it being 60 degrees everyday!  I Hope everyone else is enjoying their Wednesday! Finally the middle of the week!

Sunday Social

1. What is your favorite handbag you've ever owned? I love anything Coach. The Coach brand is indeed my favorite handbag line and I love Coach (outlet) so much! Lately, I have been using my black clutch so much.

2. What is your dream handbag you lust over? Ah, my dream bag that I am wanting so bad right now is the Michael Kors Gansevoort bag. Unfortunately, expensive purse money is not in the budget these days but a girl can dream.

3. What are the daily essentials in your purse or work bag? Lip gloss, chapstick (Burt's Bees of course), hand lotion, tampon, birth control, gum or some sort of mint, wallet, receipt/coupon organizer and foundation/powder.

4. What's in your purse (with pictures)? Pictures to come... right now all I have is my small clutch that has my license, money and debit card in it. I will have to do a photo op with my purse in the near future! I still have not transferred back to my normal purse since I have been home from Florida.

Sunday Confession

This morning I participated in the Lymphoma Research Society's annual Lymphomathon in Seattle. I think it would be appropriate to say my Sunday Confession is... I REALLY HATE CANCER.

My Father in-law passed away in October of 2010 from this horrible disease and it has effected my life immensely.  For the past five years we have participated in this walk - which fundraises money towards finding a cure for Lymphomic cancer.  Today was a day of remembrance, sadness, hope and celebration - I pray so hard that in my lifetime there is a cure.

Who I Am

1. How long have you been blogging? And what got you started on blogging? Has your blog changed? I have been blogging since May and have totally loved it! It is getting my creative writing juices flowing. I have loved the people I have "met" on blogger and love reading peoples posts!

2. Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study? I was a lost cause when it came to college.  I went to Eastern Washington University to become a Teacher and then got caught up in the college scene.  My grades dropped because I was having to much fun and I really did not know what I wanted to major in. My parents encouraged me to come home and go to community college while I figured out what was next for me. I studied to become a Social Worker and then found a job that was to good to pass up. 5 years later I have advanced in the company and am still happy with my decision.  I am currently working on getting my paralegal certificate.

3. Where have you traveled? I have been blessed and have spent a lot of time traveling in the United States.  California, Arizona, Florida, New York and Oregon... those were some of our regular trips that we visited multiple times growing up. Now that I am vacationing on my dime and budget we try and do one big vacation a year. Since I have been with John we have been on so many camping trips and have been to Oregon, Las Vegas, Mexico, Florida and Minnesota.  I love to travel even if it is across the mountains in my own state.

4. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy? A house!

5. What are your 3 biggest pet peeves? People who say um. People who lie. People who are two faced.

6. What is your favorite movie? Titanic all the way!

7. What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea? I am a water girl all the way.  When I go to the doctor or have been at the gym and they tell my to increase my water intake I tell them there is literally no way for me to drink MORE water because I drink so much of it. To spice it up I add some lemon or lime! When we were in Florida last week it was such a treat because there was a water bar at the hotel we were staying at.  Big pitchers of water with lemon, lime mixed in one and strawberry, pineapple and blueberry in the other! I was in HEAVEN!

8. What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time? Read. This is a habit I am trying to get back in to doing more of. I LOVE to read but when I am feeling lazy or get a moment to just hang out I always turn on the TV. I need to start reading more.

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be? Nordstroms, Target or Kohls.

10. Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present. Everyday I do something embarrassing. Literally - I am always laughing at myself  because I am such a dweeb and do something stupid!

11. What day would you love to relive again? As all girls that are married say - my wedding day. It was so amazing and makes me so happy to think about. I wish I could relive that day always.

12. If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you? I have said it before but I would be Jaquline from the Real Housewives of New Jersey.  She wants to be everyone's friend and wants to be the peacemaker.  That is so me. I befriend everyone which have proven to be a bad thing in my past but I always want to see the good in people.

13. What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years? I was a lifeguard, swim coach and taught swim lessons. My life revolved around the pool and I basically lived there.

14. Show us a picture from high school or college. Stephanie from Full House came to my college and spoke my freshman year - that was a highlight!

Here we are driving home from a weekend away at a college an hour away and we ran in to some car problems. Of course I was in shorts - but what better time to have a photo op?

15. If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go? Bora Bora. Anywhere tropical would be ideal!

16. Show us the most current picture of you or you, or your family, or anything of meaning to you. Well of course my husband, family and friends are so important to me.. but our pup turned one and he is the star of our family!

17. Where do you see your life 5 years from now? I see myself owning a house and having kids! I am excited to see where the future takes John and I. We are so happy and we have so much going for us in the future - I just can't wait to see it all play out. For now we are enjoying the time we have together before our family grows.

Florida

I promise I am ALMOST done talking about my vacation. I am dedicating my "Dear Friday" to overwhelming you with pictures from Florida and spending a little more time reminiscing of my fabulous time.

We started our trip in Orlando where we spent the first two days of our travels with my Aunt and Uncle. We love every chance we get with them and they conveniently live 25 minutes away from Disney World! So our trip began at the most magical place on earth! I was SO excited to go to Disney. I felt like a little kid as we arrived on to the property and the minute I got a glimpse of Cinderella's Castle I felt alive and ready for the day ahead!

After your Disney adventure we packed up the car and drove down the the Gulf Coast and stayed at a condo in Naples! It was BEAUTIFUL there and we loved playing on the beach, swimnming in the pool and really vacationing. It was pure relaxation and I was in my element.

Since we were vacationing with my parents - which we truly loved - we knew we wanted to get away for a bit and celebrate our first anniversary! We rented a 2013 Ford Mustang and traveled down the beach a ways and stayed at a beautiful hotel on the water.

John is OBSESSED with the Boston Red Sox and their Spring Training facility was about twenty minutes away.  When we arrived it was closed, but I saw a fence open for some of the people who were doing some maintenance and we snuck in to the building. We wandered everywhere and even snuck on to the field!

I signed up to get the Naples Groupon's before we went on our vacation.  There was a kayaking deal that I bought for us to go on and it was the best experience.  We kayaked for three hours, stopping at little islands along the way and there were dolphins swimming all around us.  One of the moments I will never forget.

At the end of our week at Naples we travled to Tampa Bay for the evening to watch the Boston Red Sox play Tampa Bay!

From Tampa Bay we went back to Orlando and spent our last day at Universal Adventure Island which was SO MUCH FUN!!!  It was the perfect way to end our vacation.

We then said our goodbyes to Florida and returned home safe and sound. Can't wait to go back!

Miscellany Monday

I can't believe I am home from my long awaited, much needed, highly anticipated Florida trip that had been on my mind all year. Vacations are so hard to come home from - all the hype and excitement that was felt while prepping for the trip and the enjoyment and fulfillment that the actual vacation feeds you is so wonderful. Coming home is the downer - especially when you think "ugh tomorrow I have to go back to work". So here I am, just finished my work day and I am down. It is 6:50 and I am already in my comfy clothes, catching up on my reality shows I had recorded while gone. My husband and I are quiet, nothing is wrong we just both are feeling the post vacation blues.

I will share more pictures later - but here are some beach memories from a sweet sunset we had one night.

Sunday Social

1. What is the best trip you have ever gone on? This is a tough one - I was very blessed as a child and traveled frequently with my family. Even though we went on some pretty big family vacations - I have to say my favorites were the many camping trips we went on.

Here I am CLEARLY enjoying a stop on a family road trip :)

My husband and I LOVE to travel and share similar vacation and traveling styles (which might I add is such an important thing to share in a relationship). We have traveled quite together - but would have to say our Honeymoon to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico not only holds a special place in our hearts but was a fabulous vacation destination!!

2. What is your best idea for a girls weekend trip? Anywhere where we can feel like the girls from Sex And The City???????

3.  What is your best idea for a couples trip? I am a TOTAL beach girl - anywhere it is warm, a pool/ocean/lake and a place for me to get a yummy drink!!!

4. What is the best vacation on the cheap? Camping!! I love camping so much - especially when you split it up with other friends/couples!!

5. What is the place you want to visit most? Bora Bora - I want to go there sooo bad!!!!

6. What are your vacation necessities? A good book, sunglasses, sunscreen, good blanket and drinks for happy hour :)
